Our mission at Purple Dragon Point Grey is to make a positive difference in the lives of children, youth, men and women and our community in general, through the study of the martial arts, and in particular the Don Jitsu Ryu system. We care about ourselves and others to create, support and maintain powerful, engaged learning in the martial arts for better health, fitness and wellbeing. We nurture growth, integrity, responsibility, discipline, self-confidence and self-esteem by celebrating our diversity within a positive martial arts school atmosphere and by promoting sportsmanship.

We create a physical environment where everyone can learn to respect one another; our martial arts school promotes a safe, caring, orderly and supportive training space, where our students are assisted in achieving their highest potential not only in the sport of karate, but also in their life in general. They get in shape, develop increased coordination, flexibility and endurance, and capture mental clarity and focus.

In particular with regards to children, we strive to instill the martial arts values in a caring and fun environment that will empower them to successfully move into society with increased confidence, determination, self-esteem and unwavering spirit, but also with thoughtfulness & humanity.

We operate our school under the “umbrella” and support of the internationally acclaimed Don Jitsu Ryu system and the worldwide-established credibility of Grandmaster Professor Don Jacob and his life values.
